SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Cloudy ice makes the bubbles harder to see.

Spring has sprung! The bubbles are still here, but they are getting increasingly difficult to see as the ice has become quite foggy. There are however still some clear patches to be found, but you will need to work harder to find them. The lake also still has a significant amount of snow covering. The late-season ice has some cool features and patterns, and any trip out on the lake is sure to be a memorable experience. Let the bubble hunting continue!

Where to Go

The best spots to find the bubbles are still the Ice Bubbles Parking Lot and Abraham Slabs, and this will be the case until the end of the season.

There is open water and thin ice north of Windy Point and the area should be avoided.

The ice at Belly can be quite treacherous where the creek comes in, and it is recommended that only those that know the area and have good knowledge of ice safety venture out on the ice in that location.
