Community Initiatives

Supporting organizations and causes that are working to increase access to the outdoors and improve the experience of those choosing to head out for an adventure is important to us.

Since 2010 we’ve had the opportunity to work with great causes and initiatives, including:

  • Alberta Sport Development Centre – Central
  • Central Alberta Access Prosperity
  • Central Alberta Refugee Effort (C.A.R.E.)
  • Kiwanis Club of Red Deer
  • Red Deer Festival of Trees
  • Special Olympics – Red Deer Chapter
  • Waskasoo Optimist Club Golf Tournament
  • Waskasoo Environmental Education Society
  • Youth HQ
  • Friends of STARS Experience Alberta (FOSEA)
  • The David Thompson Climbing Association’s Clean-Up Days
  • Frontier Lodge and the Goldeye Centre as part of the Truck Takeover days at the Nordegg Canteen
  • Subsidized guide training and tours for Nordegg residents

Looking for help?

While every charitable event has merit, we are unfortunately unable to support all the requests for donations we receive.

We tend to focus on supporting local groups addressing conservation, environmental/outdoor education, trail building, environmental advocacy and inspiring people of all ages in the outdoors. Following our relocation to Nordegg, our focus is on supporting initiatives based and having an impact on the Nordegg & Abraham Lake region.

We support organizations with an open membership that are representative of our corporate values as well as those of our team members. We do not generally support religious organizations, groups or endeavours.

Our preference is always to work directly with the nonprofit organizations involved as we feel this is the best way to create a long-term partnership with the greatest impact. We do however work with service clubs (e.g. Rotary or Optimist clubs) and fundraising organizations (e.g. United Way) on specific projects from time to time.

Support typically consists of discounted or donated services toward a specific project (e.g. charters or shuttles, guided tours, assistance planning outdoor activities). We sometimes donate gift certificates, valid on any of our tours, for auctions and raffles. Please note that we do not offer cash donations or sponsorship at this time.

How to apply?

If you meet the criteria listed above, please contact us at least 6 weeks prior to your event or sponsorship needs.

Detail requests should be sent by email to danielle@nordeggadventures.ca. While we appreciate information on your attendance, track record and sponsor recognition program we are more interested in your story. Tell us why your organization does what it does and how we may help you reach your goal.

We strive to reply to all requests but if you do not hear from us then unfortunately you must assume that your application was unsuccessful. We wish you the best with your event.
