Red Deer & Rocky Mountain House
You'll meet your guide at our Basecamp + Cafe (#10 5579 47 Street, Red Deer) by 7:15 am. We'll be going over the waiver and some of the plans for the day. The Cafe will be open at 7 am with breakfast sandwiches, granola and baked goods if you're looking to grab a bite before we hit the road.
For those meeting us in Rocky Mountain House, we'll be picking up at the Visitor Information Centre at 8:30 am.
Our first stop will be at Crescent Falls where we'll be doing the longest of our walks for the day. The double waterfalls are another popular spot in the area but not quite as accessible as many expect. Those who want will be able to access the lower section of the falls while the rest of the group enjoys the view from above.
We'll start our Abraham Lake adventure at Preacher's Point, a popular spot for ice bubbles accessible with larger buses. Our next stop will be the Siffleur Falls Staging Area where we'll find the only public toilets in the Abraham Lake area.
Our next stops will be along the lake in places like Allstones Cove, Windy Point, Hoodoo Creek and Cline River. We'll be taking a few short walks and spending some time checking the ice bubbles that are making the area famous.
Bagged lunches including your choice of Veggies & Hummus, Honey Maple Turkey Sandwich or Angus Beef Sandwich along with veggies and hummus, fruit salad, juice and dessert will be served on the bus.
