Rustic camping where the river meets the lake

An easily accessible camping area, making it one of the most popular in the region.

This camping area located at the mouth of the North Saskatchewan River offers magnificent mountain views. With easy access and many hiking trails nearby, this popular camping area can be quite crowded in the summer. Be aware that winds can be fierce.

Tread lightly and please pack out your garbage. No motorized vehicles are allowed below the high water mark or on the lake bottom from April 1 – December 1. A Public Lands Camping Pass is required to camp here.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, explore and adventure is home to the Îyârhe Nakoda First Nation and the Smallboy Mountain Cree, part of the Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 Territories, part of the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3, and has been the traditional meeting ground for many Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial. We are grateful for the stewardship of these lands along with the knowledge, traditions, and teachings that have been passed down through generations.
