It’s Worth the Wait

Doing the right thing means taking a pause from sharing our region with you. We wish we could be out exploring the Nordegg and Abraham Lake region with you right now, but we know that it’s worth the wait.

We suspended our operations on March 16 and we are working toward resuming some of our tours by June 15. We know that since the provincial government began the process to re-open provincial parks and public lands many of you have been looking forward to a day of hiking with us. Our first priority is the safety of our guests, our team members and our community. That’s why we are taking our time to make sure that we can offer a great experience without undue risk.

Summer 2020

Our guided hikes in the Nordegg and Abraham Lake region are tentatively available starting on June 15. There will be a few changes for this summer, in addition to the government directives:

  • Only private tours are available for now. This means that only you and your guests will be on the tour with our guide, helping reduce the risk.
  • All tours will meet at the trailhead. We are working on options to safely offer transportation later in the season.
  • Lunches and snacks will be provided individually as a bagged lunch in disposable containers instead of being served family-style.

We understand that it’s challenging to plan an adventure in these uncertain times. That’s why we’re making some changes to our booking and cancellation policies for this summer. You can reserve your tour today and payment will be due 72 hours prior to departure, giving you the flexibility to book now and change your plans later if needed.

Winter 2020/21

At the moment we are hoping to resume close to normal operations in time for the Abraham Lake ice bubble season starting in late November. Some of the changes being implemented this summer will likely continue into the winter (bagged lunches, private tours, enhanced sanitation protocols, etc).

We have made some changes to our booking and cancellation policies for the season. We are offering a book now, pay later option on most tours for winter 2020/21 season for bookings made by June 30, 2020. Payment will be due 30 days prior to your tour to confirm your adventure. We also continue to offer the option of a credit toward a future adventure or a full refund for any cancellations as a result of COVID-19.

Moving forward, our flexible cancellation policy continues to apply: a full credit is available for tours cancelled a minimum of 72 hours prior to departure (excludes some tours delivered by partners).

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
