LOTS OF GREAT BUBBLES IF YOU’RE WILLING TO WALK FURTHER

We’re starting to see more ice on the lake but it’s still early season conditions. Use extra caution when exploring areas that have only recently frozen.

Not a lot has changed since our last update. The area north of Preacher’s Point still has great bubbles and good ice over 22 cm thick, but the access is a little more challenging.

The river channel should still be avoided with variable ice conditions throughout the channel and near the point (as mentioned in the post below from the Government of Alberta).

The ice near the main access at Preacher’s Point is sitting on the ground now and starting to be cloudier.

We’ve seen some ice start to form on the lake between the dam and Allstones as well as in the Cline Landing area. The recent winds have broken up the ice in those areas but with more seasonal temperatures in the forecast we expect the lake to freeze soon.
