Ladies Hiking Group: Siffleur Falls + Benches

by | Published on June 26, 2018 | Last updated on October 30, 2021

The second hike in our private monthly hiking series took us on the classic Siffleur Falls hike followed by a detour up on the benches along the Siffleur River to a viewpoint overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, the Kootenay Plains and the main range of the Rockies.

We hiked a little over 10 km on a rainy day. The side trail to the benches makes for an easy addition to this hike, giving us a different perspective on the fragile Kootenay Plains.

The first views of the Siffleur River canyon with Mount Ernest Ross and Two O’Clock Ridge in the background.

Taking a few minutes to enjoy the view from the platforms along the way.
The falls were full with the river running high and fast.
Making our way back after a lunch break upstream of the falls.
