Head out for an adventure in search of ice bubbles

See the Abraham Lake region from a unique perspective: a sightseeing flight + an alpine snowshoe tour + an ice walk on the ice bubbles!

Take a flight from the Rockies Heli Canada base located between Nordegg and Saskatchewan River Crossing on the shores of Abraham Lake. Your sightseeing adventure takes you into the Cline River valley, toward the majestic Minster Mountain, glaciers and stunning lakes.

Stop at an alpine lake during your flight for a snowshoe experience like no others. Head up in the deep snow to a lookout overlooking the valley, surrounded by peaks. After lunch at the base, head out for an ice walk on Abraham Lake to see the famous ice bubbles.

Located along Abraham Lake, these tours are a great way to get an introduction to the area, see incredible sights and explore off the beaten track.

Explore places most people don’t get to see, like snowshoeing at an Alpine Lake or seeing Abraham Lake from above.

There are three flight options for this tour.

The Six Glaciers Tour, a 20-minute flight, is a great introduction to the area filled with glaciers, waterfalls and amazing sights you can only see by helicopter. You’ll soar over the spectacular Cline Pass and fly by the Cline, Lion & Lioness glaciers.

The Epic Summit and Icefield Tour, a 30-minute flight, is the most popular option taking you over the beautiful Wilson Icefield and its many crevasses. You’ll fly over an impressive 10,000-foot pass and fly by the Cline, Lion & Lioness glaciers.

The Complete Columbia Icefield, a 55-minute flight, includes the best of the Rockies and takes you to incredible heights, over frozen lakes, massive glaciers and spectacular waterfalls. It’s a tour that will definitely leave you speechless.

The Snowshoe Adventure

Your adventure includes a one-hour stop at a remote location for a snowshoe to enjoy the views of the surrounding peaks. You’ll get to experience deep snow and one of the best places to snowshoe in the province as you head up through the trees to a lookout overlooking the valley.

Abraham Lake Ice Walk

After lunch, we’re heading out on Abraham Lake for an ice walk. With the methane bubbles under our feet and amazing peaks surrounding us, the afternoon goes by fast as even better sights await us along the way.
