Visitor Guides

You’ll find a different kind of experience here as you explore the lesser-known Rockies, off the beaten path between Central Alberta and Banff National Park.

Our idea of nightlife is campfires and starry skies. Our best trails are often unmarked, sometimes even missing from the maps.

Adventures off the beaten path take a little more effort, but the rewards are well worth it: stunning canyons, incredible peaks, glaciers, amazing rivers and the ice bubbles of Abraham Lake.

Yes, our region is a little more rugged, but that’s part of the charm for those who love an adventure.

That’s why we share our visitor guides to help you plan your next adventure, whether you join us on a guided tour or decide to explore on your own.

Summer Adventures

Paddle down the glacier-fed North Saskatchewan River, hike through wildflowers-filled meadows and relax by the campfire in the Nordegg & Abraham Lake region.

This is the time to play outside, have family adventures and spend lazy afternoons relaxing in nature. The days are longer and so are the adventures as you take in the sights of waterfalls, turquoise lakes and mountain peaks you come across along the way.

Winter Adventures

Winter is the time to play outside, take in the beauty of our frozen wonderland and spend lazy evenings at the cabin. The days are shorter, making it the perfect time to catch the alpenglow, sunrise and sunset colours as you take in the sights of frozen waterfalls, ice bubbles and mountain peaks we come across along the way.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather, explore and adventure is home to the Îyârhe Nakoda First Nation and the Smallboy Mountain Cree, part of the Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 Territories, part of the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3, and has been the traditional meeting ground for many Indigenous Peoples since time immemorial. We are grateful for the stewardship of these lands along with the knowledge, traditions, and teachings that have been passed down through generations.
